Voice Disorder

It occurs when the voice quality, pitch, and loudness differ or are inappropriate for an individual's age, gender, cultural background, or geographic location (ASHA).

Signs & Symptoms include:

- rough/ hoarse/ breathy voice
- change in pitch
- change in loudness
- loss of voice
- vocal fatigue
- excessive throat pain
- voice breaks

Cause:

Voice difficulties could be due to,
- Damage or injury to the vocal tract
- Any neurological/ degenerative disorder
- Excessive use/ abuse of voice
